At the request of a customer who has shown interest in a long-time study of Valandre sleeping bags, especially about the LOFT of our sleeping bags, we asked Ralf Dujmovits, who has already climbed every 14 - 8000 and already very much Long with Valandre.

Even over a few years, I've got just about the same loft as at the beginning.

If he had packed the sleeping bag long in the compression sack, it takes a while, until the full loft is there. But after the first night in the sleeping bag, the full loft is back.

In an 8000 expedition I sleep about 40 nights in a sleeping bag. Last summer - during the attempt to climb two 7000s - Nancy and I have spent 50 nights at the Baltoro Glacier in Odin. We were extremely satisfied - partly almost too warm.

Personal comparisons to other manufacturers, I unfortunately can not offer, since I sleep 27 years only in Valandrés.

As far as washing is concerned, this depends very much on the detergent used and the care during drying. Had no problems so far - but do not use a dryer to dry, but always shake the down parts by hand.
